Will Man City Finally Triumph vs The Spurs?

2016-10-01 17:08

Nothing is set in stone in the Premier League yet, but the trends are clear: Man City is leading strongly with no losses to their name, and the Spurs are following with a four point lag. However, last season Tottenham was a kryptonite to the Sky Blues, who lost twice. Will they break the so-far perfect run in the White Hart Lane?

According to the UK-licensed bookie TonyBet, Man City are going to clock in yet another victory. Surely, they do look very strong and their season so far hasn‘t had a glitch, the Citizens had started the 15/16 successfully too, but that did not stop them from losing to the Spurs 1:4 on September 26th, and 1:2 on February 14th.

Now so far, Man City has played against Sunderland, Stoke City, West Ham, Man United, Bournemouth and Swansea City. While they managed to score a total of 18 goals in these six matches, all of their opponents but the Cherries walked away with a goal as well. The results are pretty good, but it shows that the Sky Blues need a stronger lock on their defence.

Meanwhile Tottenham haven’t really lost a game either, but they drew twice – against Everton in first week, and vs Liverpool in third, both a single goal ties.  They did win vs Crystal Palace, Stoke City, Sunderland, and Middlesbrough – so just like their upcoming contenders, the Spurs haven’t had to deal with a lot of the toughest teams just yet.

The Sky Blues have shown first signs of weakness internationally in the 3:3 draw against Celtic, and even though it is pretty difficult to compare out-of-England results to ones in Premier League due to gameplay style differences, it still implies that their opponents just need to be resilient enough – and rely on attack. The latter fact isn’t all that good for the Spurs, who scored single goals in four out of the six games that they’ve had, and their only impressive 4:0 result came in the match vs Stoke City, who are firmly #19 as of now.

Still, it would be daft to assume that Tottenham is an easy game for Man City. Quite the opposite – these teams have a long history, know what is like to play against each other very well, and are sure to crank their game up a notch. That, of course, means that we are in for a real treat, so make sure you don’t miss this gem!
